I like to cook and see others enjoying my creation or adopted recipe. Today I made a meat pie from scratch. For this you can use any kine of dough you like, I used this one that I found on http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Pizza-Dough-I/Detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=pizza%20dough&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1&e7=Home%20Page&soid=sr_results_p1i11
This one of my favorite because you don't need to wait for it to rise, you can use it immediately. If this is not a time saver don't know what is then!
For the meat you will need:
Preheat oven 400 F
1 lb. ground beef for coating: mix 1 TBS. water with 1 egg
2 large onions diced
1 small tomatoes peeled and diced
5 cloves of garlic mashed
black pepper
1 green chili (optional)
1 tsp. all spice
salt as desired
cayenne pepper(optional)
3 TBS. yogurt
3 TBS. olive oil
In a pan fry the onions and mix it with the spices until it turns pink. Add the meat and cook on low until the meat is cooked well. Add the garlic and the tomatoes cook for a minute or two. If you ended up with too much fat drain the meat. Add the yogurt and mix well.
Spread the dough over the baking sheet to thickness you desire. Spread the meat mix over it and roll. make few cuts on the top of the dough. Brush the dough with egg mix and sprinkle it with sesame seeds. Bake for 20 min. or until dough looks golden. You can offer it with Greek salad or yogurt salad. Enjoy!
